Let’s Get to Know One Another
I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I am one of seven, so family gatherings are a lot of fun (and a bit crazy). But I am so grateful for each member of my family! My mom homeschooled us growing up, which allowed my siblings and I to grow closer and closer together. My sisters are truly my best friends! At around twelve years old, I started to take an interest in photography. I would take my little point and shoot camera outside and take photos in my backyard. Then, I started having my sisters model for me and would do themed portraits.
When it was time for me to graduate, I knew right away that I wanted to study photography further. I went to Suffolk County Community College for two years and did the photographic imaging program. I learned a lot in my two years there and met a lot of awesome people. I even got to be a part of the campus's literary arts magazine and was Editor-in-Chief for my last two semesters there. Fun fact, I always wanted to be a photojournalist growing up, so this was a cool way for me to explore this field.
After graduating from SCCC in 2016, I became a nanny to a wonderful family. That was my full-time job, and I did photography on the side. I started off very slow, but did occasional family and portrait sessions. I also was able to second shoot for a friend that I made through SCCC, though I never thought I would get into weddings. To me, they seemed way too stressful with a lot of pressure for you to “not miss the shot”. However, after shooting a few weddings with my friend, I quickly fell in love with photographing weddings. Being a part of the love and happiness was such a joy! I continued to be a second shooter for a couple more years, then eventually got into weddings on my own. This was a big step for me and I was so excited! On top of weddings, I also did various family, maternity, and portrait sessions. From this point on, I continued to grow my business more and more each year.
In April 2021, I got engaged to my now husband, Jacob. He proposed to me on the top of a mountain and it was the sweetest day. We planned our wedding in just 5 months and it was crazy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! In May of 2021, I started a new job on Plum Island, NY. Working there has been such a cool experience! Jacob and I got married on September 30th 2021. We had both the ceremony and reception at our church in Coram. It was an absolutely beautiful day in so many ways! It was also pretty cool to be on the other side of the camera hehe.
Since then, I have been enjoying married life with my sweet husband. It is such a joy to be married to your best friend! Every day is so much fun with him. When we aren’t working, we love to spend time together. Some days that looks like going for walks/runs together, exploring new places, going to breweries and coffee shops, reading together, playing music and singing together, or just being lazy and watching movies.
This past February, we found out that I’m pregnant! More recently I found out that we’re having a boy. What a blessing! I am due in October and we are beyond excited.
That about sums it up! Here are some things I’m passionate about: Jesus, my husband, music, nature, hiking, being active and living a healthy lifestyle, cooking/baking, writing, reading, spending time with family and friends, and exploring this beautiful Earth.
